WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear friends,
The Neuro-Otological and Equilibrimetric Society of India, as we all know, is the oldest subspecialty society of Otolaryngology established in 1978. After a short, unfortunate period of inactivity our society has seen an admirable resurgence in recent times as evidenced by the increasing participation of delegates from across the globe in our recent conferences.
This year we are organizing the 43rd Annual Conference NESCON 2025 in Kolkata, for the first time in recent memory. This year we have selected “Multi disciplinary team approach for better outcomes” as a theme for our conference and hope to involve paediatricians, obstetricians, neurologists, neonatologists etc in our deliberations. This year we expect the participation to be even greater and hopefully we shall touch the 500 mark!
Kolkata – the City of Joy – is an erstwhile capital of British India and a thriving metropolis in the eastern part of the country. The city is well connected to the rest of the country and world by road and air. There are many famous tourist attractions in and around the city like the Victoria memorial, Kalighat temple, Dakshineshwar temple, Belur Math. Shantiniketan, the university town founded by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore is a short drive from the city as are the Sunderbans which form the largest mangrove forest in the world (famous for the Royal Bengal Tigers) and a World Heritage site.
Kolkata is not only a vibrant pot pourri of history, arts, culture and academics but is, more importantly, an intense love affair that you can neither resist nor forget. Cosmopolitan and welcoming, Kolkata has so much to offer that you shall invariably end up making multiple trips if you haven’t done so already. Food is central to the soul of the city, as are literature, arts and culture. We promise you shall have every opportunity to experience all these aspects of our beloved city while you dig into delectable Bengali cuisine in the form of machher jhol, kosha mangsho, chingri malai curry and mouthwatering Bengali sweets!
Ladies shouldn’t miss the opportunity to pick up Dhakai jamdani, Murshidabad silk or Kantha stitch sarees that form part of the famous textile fare of our corner of the world. By the way, gentlemen who make the mistake of not bringing their better halves to the conference better not miss this bit of advice in order to make up for the blunder!!
We, the organizing committee, extend a very warm welcome to all of you and promise a stimulating memorable NESCON 2025 with endearing and everlasting memories!
Regards

Dr. N.V.K Mohan
Organising Secretary, NESCON 2025
From the Desk of NES President

Dear friends,
Greetings from the NES family!
It's been a while since I was entrusted the task of being at the helm of affairs of our prestigious body, the NES of India. I have tried to live upto the expectation of my peers.
The science of Neurotology has been growing at a rapid pace, to the benefit of both the healers and patients. The burden of Vertigo, Dizziness and Balance disorders in society is, in fact, gigantic, and has remained partially addressed in the past. These recent developments in assessment and treatment of these disorders are a marvel in modern medicine.
We have grown from a small society to a much bigger one with more than 1000 members, and an active participation in our recent annual conferences. We are grateful to Dr. NVK Mohan and his team for coming forward to host our next annual conference at Kolkata from August 1 to August 3, 2025.
I sincerely welcome you all to join us in the City of Joy , and enjoy an academic extravaganza as well as the hospitality extended by our wonderful hosts from the organizing committee.
With warm regards

Dr. Avinash Bijlani
President, NES of India
From the Desk of NES Secretary
